Overview
Motorised shading does more thermal work than any other automated element in a Gulf property. Closing sheers on a west elevation through the afternoon measurably reduces the cooling load before the thermostat ever reacts.
The engineering that matters is acoustic and mechanical: a motor that is audible in a bedroom will be switched off within a week, and a track that binds on a bay window will be blamed on the automation. We specify tracks to the opening, not the other way round.

Quiet enough for bedrooms
Motors are specified under 32 dB at one metre and ramp in and out, so an early scene does not wake the room it is serving.
Solar tracking
Shades follow the sun by elevation and date rather than a fixed clock, closing the west face through the afternoon and reopening at dusk.
Made to the opening
Curved, bay, and raked runs are measured and manufactured to the actual opening rather than forced onto a stock track.
Always manually overridable
Every track can be hand-pulled and every blind chain-operated. Automation never removes the obvious way to do it.
